Kuala Lumpur, 12 November 2024 – XIMNET Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“XIMNET”) is delighted to announce its appointment as the digital agency for Warisan KL, the national-scale initiative dedicated to revitalising the heart of downtown Kuala Lumpur through heritage, creativity and culture.
In line with Warisan KL’s mission to transform Kuala Lumpur into a vibrant cultural and creative district, XIMNET will lead the comprehensive redesign and rebuild of the Warisan KL website, underpinned by the agency’s proprietary XTOPIA CMS platform with AI-capabilities to deliver a future-ready digital experience for residents, creatives, visitors and stakeholders alike.

Objective & Strategic Imperative

Warisan KL’s website presents the story of Kuala Lumpur’s iconic meeting of the Klang and Gombak rivers, historic precincts and cultural identity, inviting exploration of the “five vibrant precincts that bring the city centre to life”.

XIMNET’s engagement is framed around supporting this mission through three interconnected goals:

  1. Elevated storytelling & brand alignment: To reflect Warisan KL’s distinct positioning as a culture-based urban renewal initiative that harnesses heritage, creativity and tourism for inclusive economic growth.

  2. Outstanding user experience across audiences: To ensure the website serves the needs of curious visitors, local communities, creative talent, entrepreneurs and partners, with seamless navigation, clarity and mobile-friendly design.

  3. Scalable content and engagement platform: To empower Warisan KL’s team to publish dynamic content, event listings, district updates and creative-economy resources easily, supported by AI-enabled workflows for smarter tagging, search and insights.

Approach & Deliverables

Drawing from best practices established in XIMNET’s previous work — including the Kreatif KL Festival case-study, the project will be executed in clearly defined phases to deliver both visual impact and operational efficiency.

Key deliverables include:

  1. Discovery & audience profiling: To map Warisan KL’s primary user segments and content-needs, informed by heritage/creative-industry dynamics.

  2. Design language & brand-expression: Adopting visual motifs derived from Malaysia’s heritage and creative culture, inspired by previous work (for example, the Kreatif KL website used songket-pattern motifs and vibrant colour palettes to reflect cultural identity).

  4. Responsive & performance-optimised build: To ensure fast load-times, mobile optimisation, accessibility compliance and future-proof scalability given anticipated traffic growth as Warisan KL advances its agenda.
